DGA were appointed by the Brick Lane Jamme Masjid and Tower Hamlets council in 2009 to design obtain planning consent and deliver this contemporary 29m high stainless-steel illuminated minaret at the heart of Brick Lane. The contemporary structure has been praised by English Heritage and is admired by the local community and visitors alike. In 2020, DGA have were approached by the V&A to have the minaret design and the original prototypes showcased at the Venice Architectural Biennale as part of their exhibition. In 2022 following their return from the Bienalle the V&A acquired these original prototypes samples for inclusion in their permanent architectural gallery at the South Kensington museum where they are now on display. DGA are delighted to have been involved in such an iconic and inspirational project, and are flattered by the design appreciation being shown by the V&A.
